2009 has arrived and I have to say that despite it being holiday season, we have again broken our traffic records this past month. And of course our growth rate remains steady. Thanks to a lot of great authors. Thank you very much. It is only with your continuous support that we are able to maintain a resource which is getting better for all.
So now of course we are chasing some new objectives, and it is our hope that 2009 will meet those objectives for the library. These include :
- A total article count of 5000 articles (so keep them coming)
- Lots of new development plans and features will likely be added in 2009 as well, including a very exciting comments blog (where readers can comment on articles or in general) as well as a fully fledged Esoteric dictionary (which we hope with your contributions will be the greatest ever).
more about that deeper into the year..
To start the new year I thought it might be useful to offer at least one extra tip to you as authors, which will assist you in getting the best possible exposure from your articles.
- Author name
Though not terribly important from an editorial perspective, it might be worth a mention that it is of great benefit to you, if you use exactly the same author name for all your articles.
As you might have noticed on our article viewer there is a listing of other articles by author. Our system lists here up to 10 articles written by the same author as the article that is being viewed. This means that if you use different variations of your author name (eg Pieter Heydenrych or; P Heydenrych), our system might not detect the other variations, and so not display your full list of published articles. This could loose value for both you and your readers.
So if at all possible, use exactly the same author name for all your articles.
Well I think that is enough for one email. Thanks again for your great support. As you should know, our authors are our most valuable resource. So rest assured that your interests here are ours.
Gratitude is the first step towards divinity, though it may prove to also be the last.
Thanks again and Blessed Be (and of course all the best for 2009.)
