I have noticed over the years an increase in energy in my body; this is particularly noticeable around the mouth.|
It is like a stream of energy that is constantly flowing almost in a circle. I experience this as a flow of consciousness both within and around my body. On the outside it may feel like fine cobwebs gently stroking my skin.
I look upon this energy as being like a gyroscope dancing on a wire. As long as the gyroscope is turning it is poised and stands on the wire.
This field of energy gives me stability in life, a reference point on which to check the forces of nature that are acting on my body.
It seems to connect up the energy centres of my body, the most active of which are the third eye (in the centre of the forehead) and the crown of the head (centre top). But I feel large quantities of energy flowing throughout my body and also very noticeable in the hands and feet.
This strong field of energy is the force that maintains the order in the body. When the body is relaxed and happy everything flows smoothly and is in harmony.
When my body faces some temporary stress, it responds positively by raising its energy level and being alert for strain or problems, in order to solve them.
This is in contrast to the experience I used to have before learning to meditate. Instead of maintaining a quiet, clear mind, I used to think constantly about the problems which were facing me.
The more I thought about a problem the more agitated I became and the narrower became my grasp of the problem and my ability to find the answer.
There is a clear contrast here: a settled mind which draws from a wide base has a much better chance of solving problems than a shallow, jumpy mind which is constantly reacting to the environment.
Also, one"s attitude is important as well. A calm, happy mind that is willing to be helpful and considerate has a much better chance of success than one with a grumpy, aggressive attitude.
This calmness of the body can also be expanded to take in one"s environment as well. The people in a society create their own atmosphere. This can be supportive and encourage progress; or it can be negative and life-threatening. Most people live their lives in an atmosphere which is somewhere in between these two extremes.
The point is that we have a choice. We can create a life-supporting atmosphere by our words, thoughts and actions; or we can create stress, which holds back progress and evolution. It depends entirely on us.
In reality most people are not aware they have a choice. They are so caught up in life that they have not had time to think of other ways they could live their lives.
They are caught up in the cycle of action and reaction which is driving their lives. This process is very real and has its basis in acquired habits.
Governments look to education as the best way to raise people"s awareness. But this is only half the answer; one needs also to raise the level of consciousness of the individual to bring them more in line with their Selves and the society in which they live.
Improve their self-awareness and they will automatically become better citizens: meditation is the answer.
What is lacking in life and in society is the integration between the various levels of matter, from the finest to the grossest.
This is achieved through meditation, whereby the conscious mind experiences finer and finer states of thought, at the same time experiencing finer and finer states of matter and energy within. These are perceived as a faster vibration in one"s awareness.
We create self-knowledge and integration in the various levels of energy which permeate the matter of our body.
Self-knowledge has the effect of increasing our intelligent mind; and the power of integration which we give off to society has the effect of raising group consciousness, thereby improving the atmosphere in which we live.
Most religions of the world share a common philosophy regarding the existence of God and God"s energy to integrate everything. But they have not captured people"s imagination as to the use of God"s energy in today"s world. The concept of God as all-pervading, all-knowing, has its basis in our knowledge of today"s world.
Raising the consciousness of the knower is needed to integrate and permeate all that exists within the world and ourselves. Today, as our energy field gets stronger and we become conscious of it on many levels within ourselves, we also see the same orderliness in our community and society as a whole.
We create from within ourselves that level of knowledge which brings our awareness of who we are, and God, into an integrated state in our daily lives.
My own feeling is that God, and the vacuum state in Quantum Physics, are one and the same: an underlying field of energy which harmonizes and synchronizes everything in the world; but this system only works if the human mind is fully integrated and fully aware.
In this fully aware state the human mind radiates a magnetic influence which harmonizes and synchronizes not only itself but also the environment around it.
By fully integrated, I mean functioning on all levels and between all levels: a multi-layered mind – which includes our feelings – working for the good of the individual and society at the same time.
