Category : Goddesses

Definition for : Goddess

Plural Form : Goddesses

The female version of God. (see also God)

There are nearly as many female deities as there are male ones, some holding equal and even more power than their male counterparts.

Without a doubt in the western world the best known Goddesses include ones inherited from Roman & Greek Mythology. Venus (Goddess of Love and beauty) and Aphrodite with domain over the same area.

In the modern western philosophies the female deities have lost some position in favour of their male counterparts, however there remain large world religions (Like Hinduism and Paganism) that still uphold the power of both male and female deities and so it can be expected that both will continue to co-exist for as long as humanity is alive.
